Monday: night 3;new years eve
We'd planned on going back to the room for lunch- but they had slices of pizza for $2.50 at the base of Mary Jane downstairs. yeah- lunch for 4 for $10 is hard to come by at a resort- so we went for it!! yay!!!
Tony and I went out for Sushi and sent the boys with the McD's gift card we got from my grandma! (THANKS GRANDMA!!!)
the sushi was awesome, they had happy hour 2-for-1 sushi rolls!! the california roll was impressive for being a cali roll. ususally they are blah and boring. We also got a spicy crab roll, a winter park roll and a sesame encrusted ahi roll- plus tuna, salmon and octopus sashimi. so delectable and so good for us. it was loud- overly loud in the restaurant which made conversation hard. I couldn't hear him- so I know he couldn't hear at all. It didn't hinder our good time. I couldn't have asked for or wished to be anywhere else.

Tuesday: night 4
day- sack lunch brought to the base of MJ and stashed in the woods in ch's backpack. sammies and pasta salad. I really enjoyed the after lunch yogurt I'd packed for myself- remember the dessert and you will never regret it!!
night- Crock Chili. I put the pre cooked meat plus a big can of crushed tomatoes and a big can of tomato sauce... oh and chugwater's chili seasoning and 1/2 a white onion cut up... let that simmer all day and when we got back from boarding at like 4- I added 3 cans of beans 2T vinegar and more of the chugwater seasoning. We forgot the cheese- so we sent the boys to the 7-11 for slices of sammie cheese!!

Wednesday: Night 5
day- sack lunch #2- this time we hid it in the trees near snoasis.. where I made use of the ski school's free hot cocoa.
night- sausage and peppers... I put one jar of Barilla's marinara, one whole cut up white onion, 4 canino's italian sausages and a bit of salt and pepper & garlic salt in the crock all day.....
when we got back- I added the bag of pre cut red, yellow, orange and green peppers and stirred it up.. let it simmer an hour more.. we sent the kids to 7-11 for ramen noodles and we were set to grub. simmer in the crock all day made the sausages all tender. The tomato flavor infused itself all the way in.
Thursday- day 6
woke up earlier than usual- but not as early as we wanted and headed to Steamboat. The snow was good. the lift ticket for B was hella outrageous- but i feel it was worth it. until that fatal limp kneed crash that made me realize 1) my exhaustion level and 2) my age. I hit a tiny little bump on the way to the pony express lift and i was DONE. had to truck it up and get a way down all the way to the truck.
Good times.
