Wow, what a weekend. Thursday night was the big party and it was fun. Very fancy and very fun. Regrettably, I forgot to take my camera so I only have memorites. Drunken ones at that. The rest of the weekend was busy and full of food and drinking. We went to dinner at Cajun Pacific on Friday - yum! Saturday we headed up to Sonoma for some wine tasting (and buying of course!) My new favorite vineyard is Amphora - the wines are delicous, even the ones that are still in the barrel! And Rick, the winemaker, is quite a character. Next time Dusti is here we are so going! Late September or October we can go and stomp the grapes! According to Rick, only virgins or "born again virgins" are allowed but I think that is code for "pretty girls." After tasting about a dozen wines with Rick we headed to David Caffaro, another small vineyard. The wines weren't quite as good nor was the atmosphere but it still blows away the big Napa wineries. Sunday we had a lovely (though pricey) brunch at the Cliff House and later in the afternoon caught a movie - Spellbound. It was really entertaining and I highly recommend it. It's a documentary that follows 8 kids who are competing in the National Spelling Bee and it's touching, funny and somewhat nerve-wracking to watch these kids get up there and spell words I have never even heard of. Really good. Yesterday I went shopping with Shannon and spent too much money. Urban Outfitters got their fair share (cute new T-shirts) and Sephora got a few bucks as well. My quest for the ultimate skincare products continue... any recommendations out there?
